When I moved from Hamburg to Switzerland, I quickly realized plant-based options were few and far between. So I rolled up my sleeves, perfected a brioche donut recipe and in 2019 opened Switzerland’s first vegan donut shop.

Mystifry became known for long queues, late nights of frying and donuts that sold out in a flash. I'll always be proud of that origin story — even if the donuts are on pause, they will always be a huge part of Mystifry's DNA.

Today, Mystifry has taken the next step: no longer just one bakery, but a cozy home for Basel’s best plant-based treats. Think chunky cookies, sourdough bagel sandwiches, chocolate croissants, cinnamon rolls and decadent cakes — all handmade, all plant-based, all in one place.
